Conference Chair
Welcome to IAQVEC 2026, the 12th International Conference on Indoor Air Quality, Ventilation, and Energy Conservation. As the Conference President, I am thrilled to host this gathering of brilliant minds dedicated to shaping a more sustainable and healthy built environment. Our theme, “Envisioning the Future: Innovations in Research and Technology for a Better Reality,” encapsulates our mission to explore cutting-edge solutions for a brighter tomorrow. I am excited to witness the impactful discussions, collaborations, and insights that will unfold during our time together.
I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the dedicated members of our organizing committee and board, and the scientific committee for their tireless efforts in shaping this event. Their commitment to fostering excellence in research and innovation is truly commendable. IAQVEC 2026 is more than an event; it’s a testament to our collective commitment to advancing building science, engineering, and architecture for the benefit of society and the planet.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to IAQVEC 2026 at the University of Southern California. As the Venue Chair, I am especially proud to host this year’s conference here in Los Angeles, a city whose challenges and innovations in air quality, energy, and climate resonate deeply with the themes of IAQVEC. My own research explores the connections between urban climate, air quality, and human well-being, and I see this conference as a unique opportunity to bring together perspectives from around the world to advance healthier and more sustainable built environments. Having you all here at USC is both an honor and an inspiration!
I would also like to take a moment to recognize the tremendous support that has gone into making this event possible. The USC facilities staff, as well as many colleagues and students across the university have worked tirelessly to ensure a welcoming and well-equipped venue for your discussions and collaborations. Their efforts, alongside those of our organizing and scientific committees, make it possible for us to focus on what matters most—sharing knowledge, forging new partnerships, and envisioning solutions for the future. I hope you find the program stimulating, the venue supportive, and your time in Los Angeles both rewarding and memorable.
